Remote unlocking and GPS systems have transformed car rentals and Turo hosting. Hosts can hand over access without meeting in person, track vehicles in real time, enforce geofences, and even remotely disable the engine with a kill switch.

Systems such as Trackmate, DroneMobile, and similar remote-unlocking GPS solutions rely on cellular networks for lock, unlock, and kill-switch commands. Their renter access typically works through web links or apps that still need a data connection to reach the server and then the vehicle.
They may offer proximity features or secondary key-management accessories, but they do not provide native, phone-to-tracker Bluetooth pairing that lets a renter unlock the doors (and manage the kill switch) with zero cellular signal on either side.
