Every Alert a Turo Host Needs, in One Device
Most of what goes wrong on a rental trip -- speeding, running up the mileage, a tow, a storm bearing down on the car, a guest who doesn't return on time -- you find out about after the fact, from a toll bill, a guest's call, or a damage report. MooveTrax alerts you the moment it happens.
The alerts, in plain terms
Speeding
Get notified when a guest exceeds your own speed threshold -- not when a ticket or toll-camera citation shows up weeks later.
Over-mileage
Know the moment a trip crosses your mileage limit, so you can enforce an overage fee with a timestamp behind it. The one alert included on every tier, even the $0 OEM tier.
Possible towing
Movement patterns consistent with a tow trigger an alert immediately, instead of you finding out when a confused guest calls asking where the car went.
Severe weather
A heads-up when severe weather is bearing down on a vehicle's location, before it becomes a damage claim.
Late return
Paired with a renter access link that expires automatically at the end of the rental window, a late-return alert tells you the moment a trip has run over -- see the full no-show & late-return breakdown.
Vehicle health & security
Low battery voltage, hood or door opened, shock or tampering, device offline or suspended -- the same alert system also covers the car's own condition, not just the trip.
All of this runs on the same platform that handles Turo calendar integration, so alerts are tied to the actual booking window -- not just "the car is moving," but "the car is moving outside of when it should be."
Which tiers include what
Speed, over-mileage, possible-towing, severe weather, and late-return alerts are all included on the MT3V, KS, WATER, and Tesla tiers. The $0 OEM software-only tier is more limited -- over-mileage alert is the only one of this group included on that tier. See the full tier comparison for exactly what's on each device.
Frequently asked questions
Does MooveTrax alert me if a guest is speeding?
Yes. Speed alerts are included on the MT3V, KS, WATER, and Tesla tiers (not the $0 OEM tier). You're notified based on your own threshold, not after the fact from a toll or ticket.
What happens if a guest drives over the mileage limit?
MooveTrax sends an over-mileage alert. It's the one alert feature included on every tier, including the $0 OEM tier -- the rest of the alert set (speeding, towing, weather, late return) requires a paid hardware or Tesla tier.
What should I do if my Turo car gets towed?
MooveTrax includes possible-towing detection on the MT3V, KS, WATER, and Tesla tiers, flagging movement patterns consistent with a tow so you find out immediately instead of when a guest calls confused that the car is gone. From there, use the vehicle's live location to confirm where it ended up and start recovery, same as you would for any towed vehicle.
Does MooveTrax alert for late returns?
Yes, on MT3V, KS, WATER, and Tesla tiers. Combined with the renter-facing access link that expires automatically at the end of a rental period, a late-return alert tells you immediately when a trip has run past its window instead of leaving you to notice later.
Are all these alerts included with every MooveTrax tier?
No. Speed, towing, severe weather, and late-return alerts are included on MT3V, KS, WATER, and Tesla -- not on the $0 OEM tier, which only includes over-mileage alerts among this group. See the full tier breakdown on the pricing page.
