ABI & Tint Insurance-Compliant GPS Tracker for Turo Hosts
Two of the most common Turo host insurance add-ons -- ABI's Period X and Tint's off-trip coverage -- both require a connected GPS device before they'll cover your car. MooveTrax is an approved provider for both. Here's exactly what each one requires, and which MooveTrax tier to use.
ABI Insurance (Period X)
ABI is American Business Insurance Services. Their Period X product is rental fleet owner insurance built for Turo hosts, and it will not issue a policy without GPS tracking on the vehicle -- that's a hard requirement, not an optional upgrade. ABI's approved GPS providers include Bouncie, PassTime, OneStep GPS, and MooveTrax.
This is separate from Turo's own platform rule, which only requires an active OEM tracker on vehicles with a fair market value of $125,000 or more. ABI's requirement is broader -- it applies to the whole fleet on a Period X policy, regardless of vehicle value.
Tint Off-Trip Insurance
Tint (tint.ai) covers the gap Turo's own insurance doesn't: the time a car sits between trips, when Turo's trip-based coverage isn't active. To stay on Tint's telematics-rate plan, the vehicle has to stay connected to an approved GPS device. Tint's approved list includes Bouncie, Zubie, MooveTrax, OneStep GPS, PassTime, Qarhami, and Redtail Telematics.
Two things to know before you sign up for Tint: you have 60 days from enrollment to get a device connected, or you're automatically moved to Tint's non-telematics plan at a higher rate. And Tint requires 3 or more vehicles listed on Turo to be eligible at all -- it's built for small fleets, not single-car hosts.

To be clear about what MooveTrax is and isn't here: it's the tracking device and platform, not the insurance policy. ABI and Tint are the insurers -- you enroll and pay them directly. MooveTrax's role is being the GPS/telematics connection their underwriting requires, which is the same device already running your locks, kill switch, geofencing, and alerts. One piece of hardware, two jobs.
